Breakout Session # 1: “Overcoming Obstacles in Your Officiating Career”
Advancing in your officiating career sometimes is not a smooth process, as detours and obstacles will eventually take place. Fred Anderson and Darius Ardelean, both members of the AOA Basketball Board, will share their experiences as they advanced from working lower level games to officiating in the IHSA state series and will prepare newer officials on what might happen and how to get ready for the unexpected challenges and rewards which lie ahead.

Breakout Session # 2: “Three Person Court Coverage”
Consistency is the key to officiating and sending the same message to all officials is a major objective. State Clinician Joe Spagnolo will review the ideal techniques of court coverage for three person mechanics. This review will echo the message sent to all clinicians at last spring’s IHSA Clinicians Meeting in Bloomington and will provide the ideal techniques for officiating each one of the positions in three person mechanics.

Keynote Address: “Twenty Plays of Video”
There is no better tool to learn basketball officiating than reviewing video. Joe Spagnolo will bring his favorite plays from the past season and will review rule assessments, officiating philosophy and critical teaching points. This has been traditionally one of the most requested pre-season presentations each year.
