Serving the Athletic Officials Association basketball division for three decades, Joe Spagnolo occupied the positions of President, Vice-President, Board Member and Associate Board Member.  Spagnolo fulfilled the duties as Division President for six years and was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the AOA Executive Board.  Under his guidance, Joe improved the classroom portions of training by developing a massive video library for hundreds of his presentations that were given throughout Northern Illinois on an annual basis.  In addition to his on-court officiating duties, Spagnolo wore many hats in the profession, working as an assignor, state clinician, classroom instructor, collegiate observer, IACO Clinic Chairperson, and lead administrator of Arbiter for the Chicagoland High School Basketball Assigners.
