Joe Fritsch has been a member of the Athletic Officials Association for over 40 years; has been the association’s Treasurer for more than 20 years; and has served the basketball division’s as its Vice-President and a member of the Board of Directors for most of his tenure. Joe was selected to officiate the Illinois High School Association’s Girls State Basketball Tournament in 2004, 2005 and 2007, including the Class AA state championship contest between Peoria Richwoods and Bartlett in 2005. Fritsch is only a handful of IHSA officials to have reached the state final level in three different sports, as he has finals experience in softball in 2002 and 2003; and water polo in 2005 and 2007, to go along with his three basketball state finals appearances.
