About Us

The Athletic Officials Association trains high school officials in the sports of Baseball, Basketball, Football, and Softball. With over 400 members, it was established in Illinois in 1917 and is a member of the Illinois High School Association. Meetings are held just west and southwest of Chicago serving officials who live in Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, and Will Counties. Over its proud history the AOA has had many members assigned to Illinois State Championship games as well as those who moved up to college and professional officiating.

Mission

The Mission of the Athletic Official Association (AOA) is to assist members in becoming better athletic officials. The AOA will accomplish this goal through clarification and interpretation of rules and promoting efficient and standard officiating techniques in football, basketball, baseball and softball. Each member will be involved in the following :
