Copas had three appearances in the IHSA state championship baseball game as an umpire. He officiated the 1999 Class A state final game, the 2004 Class AA state championship and the Class 4A state final game. Bob was named IHSA Official of the Year for baseball in 2014. Copas was the AOA baseball division President in 2001. Bob was presented with the Abe Glick Award in 2020.
