Shawn Mercer-Dixon
It is with great sadness that the Girls Catholic Athletic Conference Officials Association informs you of the passing of longtime member Shawn Mercer-Dixon. Remarkably, Shawn continued to face her ongoing medical challenges head-on and worked until the end of the IHSA girls basketball season. She also served as president of BBY Sports NFP, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the recruitment, education, training and development of new sport officials. Ms. Mercer-Dixon was very concerned about the critical shortage of elementary and high school sport officials throughout the Illinois in general and within the Chicagoland area in particular. Please keep our friend and colleague in your thoughts and prayers.
